The Very 1st Episode of The Social Media Growth Show

Hello everyone and welcome to the very first episode of the Social Media Growth Show. Let me tell you, I’m really excited about this new podcast series and I thank you for tuning in and deciding to spend your time with me. I really appreciate the fact that you’re here.

Hopefully, I’m going to entertain you and give you a load of actionable tips. I’ve been working really hard on this series, so I hope you’ll enjoy it.

A Quick Introduction

Before getting our feet wet, let me give you a quick introduction for everybody who’s new and doesn’t know who I am or what I do and what you can expect from this podcast.

Well for starters, I’ve had this idea for quite a long time. And I finally decided to follow through with it and here’s why:

To be completely honest with you the first place I go if I’m looking to learn about a new subject or hear from a person that inspires me is by listening to a podcast. Podcasting is  an excellent media because it’s easy to digest and you can listen to it on your way to work, the gym, or even while you shower.

Oh, wait for a second; maybe that would just be weird.

That’s why I’ve decided to go ahead and launch this podcast. But listen, this podcast is going to be entirely focused on providing value. If you know me already you know that I’m so passionate about helping business owners, entrepreneurs, founders, friends, salespeople. Anyone! To successfully use social media to grow their business and improve their lives. Personal development is also a huge topic for me and that’s something else that we’re going to cover.”

What You’ll Get from the Show

To be honest I didn’t want this show to be me talking one-on-one with you all of the time because that’d be boring and there’s only a certain amount of knowledge I can share. So, I’ve also decided to interview some friends of mine, business owners I look up to and successful entrepreneurs.

I decided to launch this podcast with you in mind to help you grow your business using social media. I’m going to share with you the latest tips and tricks, growth hacks, and social media trends within the industry so you can just go and use them to grow your business.

Every so often, I’m going to bring my friends to the show and we’ll talk about how you can use social media to grow your business. We’ll talk about their businesses and how they got to the place they are today. We will also share some of their personal stories.

Like I told you, this will be a weekly show. Some weeks it’s going to be just me and others will be interviews with successful entrepreneurs, but since this is the very beginning of the podcast, I’ve decided to launch three episodes at the same time.

First of all, thank you for listening to this episode. After you’ve finished I want you to listen to episodes 2 and 3. We’ll have two incredible interviews I’ve arranged.

Episode #2 is a good friend of mine, sales and business coach, Liston Witherill. Liston has been through that period of building several agencies and businesses, and now he runs a coaching business. He’s a great guy and is going to share some incredible tips with us.

Episode #3 is another interview with two friends of mine, Daniel and Matthew, the co-founders of Quuu. They’ve grown their business really well and they have, I believe, over 65,000 active users and a team of over 10 people. If you’re thinking of launching a business and a project, this is the episode for you because they’ll give you great tips on how to grow your business and talk about what they’re doing at the moment.

A Bit About Me

I’m 23 years old and come from a small town half an hour outside of London, in the UK. I have a huge interest in social media, social selling, and business. I’ve worked for some years as a salesperson and decided to leave school as soon as I could. 

I left school when I was around sixteen because I didn’t really want to go to the university. Instead I wanted to get straight into the working world. I took a job as a painter and decorator that a family friend offered me.

Let me tell you, it wasn’t exactly what I wanted to be but it was definitely a start.

When I was a teenager I had a huge passion and love for sports, specifically martial arts. I competed at a high level for the England National Taekwondo team, winning medals at world and European championships.

So, how did I go from being a martial artist to becoming a salesperson?

It all happened when a friend of mine suggested that people who come from successful sporting backgrounds often transitioned into the sales world really well. Now that I think of it, it makes sense because sport, and particularly martial arts, teach you incredible work ethic and perseverance.

With that in mind, I decided to give it a go and landed myself a job at a small engineering manufacturing sales business. I worked there for a couple of years before eventually landing another job in the recruitment industry.

Recruitment was a proper introduction to sales, and I worked in the industry for around three years in different companies; some were small, and others had the Wolf of Wall Street kind of style. One of my targets was to call over 150 people per day, and while I didn’t really enjoy it I learned how using other platforms could make my sales process much more efficient, and that’s when I decided to pursue a career in social media.

That’s when I moved to London. I knew I wanted to work for one of the big social media platforms or tech companies, so I targeted both LinkedIn and HootSuite and, long story short I landed a job in the Hootsuite sales team and worked there for a while. It was there where I really improved my social selling skills and gained lots of the knowledge that I have today about how you can grow your business using social media.

Now, I’m leading business development and growth in the UK for a SaaS company Leadfeeder, and I run a Facebook group called Sell More with Social Media where I also share my tips and tricks on how to reach your clients and grow your business using social media. You should totally check it out and maybe even become a member. 

I’m also a remote worker. And despite being from outside London, I’ve been travelling around Europe for the last 5-6 months without a home base. I even recorded this episode from an apartment in Budapest, Hungary. The truth is that I’ve been really fortunate to travel over these last few months and can’t wait to travel more of the world.

I love travelling and sports, learning about new cultures, personal development, and over the last year I’ve become heavily involved with cryptocurrencies.
